Opportunity Information: Apply for USDA FS UCF 01 2017
The 2017 National Urban and Community Forestry Grant Program, managed by the U.S. Forest Service, aims to allocate approximately $900,000 in grant funding for urban and community forestry projects that demonstrate national or multi-state significance. These funds are available through the Challenge Cost-Share grant program and may only be used for projects on non-federal public land.
Eligible applicants include non-Federal organizations and Tribal agencies within the U.S. and its territories, though collaboration with Federal agencies is encouraged. However, Federal agencies themselves cannot receive funding or contribute as matching funds. Individuals and private land projects are ineligible.
Proposals must focus on urban forestry issues that impact multiple states or tribes. Local or state-specific projects, including those that involve only tree planting or property improvements, do not qualify and should seek alternatives through State Urban and Community Forestry Coordinators, whose contact information can be found online.Apply for USDA FS UCF 01 2017
