Opportunity Information: Apply for BJA 2014 3786
The BJA FY 14 Charles Colson Task Force on Federal Corrections is a grant opportunity aimed at addressing issues within the federal corrections system. The U.S. Bureau of Prisons (BOP) manages 119 federal prisons housing around 174,000 offenders, with additional inmates in private and state facilities. Since 2000, the inmate population has risen significantly, leading to overcrowding in BOP facilities, which are currently operating at an average of 33 percent over capacity, with higher rates in various security levels.
To tackle these challenges, the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2014 has allocated funds to set up a bipartisan, nine-member Charles Colson Task Force on Federal Corrections. The purpose of this task force is to explore and recommend solutions for the federal corrections system's problems. The grant seeks a technical assistance provider to facilitate and support the task force's work effectively.Apply for BJA 2014 3786
