Opportunity Information: Apply for OES OPP 12 001

The Building Opportunity Out of Science and Technology (BOOST) program, announced by the Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs, invites applications to enhance the role of science, technology, and innovation globally. The initiative aims to support young scientists, aged 18 to 30, by providing professional development opportunities and strengthening their skills to tackle global challenges and stimulate economic growth.

Three grants, each up to $198,000, will be awarded for projects that either focus on Professional Skills Development or Technology Commercialization, funded through FY 2011 Economic Support Funds.

1. **Professional Skills Development**: This area emphasizes equipping young researchers with the essential skills for knowledge sector employment and impactful research. Activities may include training programs, mentorship connections, and soft skills development, leading to improved data analysis, publication output, and international collaboration.

2. **Technology Commercialization**: This focus area encourages translating research into market-ready products. It might involve entrepreneurship education, research market analysis, and fostering partnerships between universities and the private sector, aiming for successful technology transfer and commercialization.

Proposals should address activities in Indonesia, Malaysia, Morocco, Tunisia, or Turkey and show an understanding of the scientific landscape in these countries, with attention to gender equality and sustainability. The application deadline is May 24 by 5:00 pm EDT, and organizations must be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) to apply. Email submissions should be a last resort.
