Opportunity Information: Apply for RFA AR 17 001

The Centers of Research Translation (CORT) grant opportunity invites applications for collaborative research programs that tackle significant translational research challenges related to specific diseases or conditions. This initiative, under the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS), encourages teams of scientists to focus on either a disease-targeted theme through multiple synergistic research projects, possibly with optional research cores, or to investigate a critical translational research question via a single collaborative project supported by interactive research cores.

Each CORT must include at least three strong research components, which consist of translational research projects and associated research cores. An Administrative Core is mandatory for all applications. The project teams should comprise lead investigators from diverse and relevant disciplines, promoting a collaborative environment across different departments or institutions. The ultimate goal of the CORT is to generate knowledge that enhances understanding of human diseases and leads to new treatment, diagnostic, or prevention strategies.
