The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is inviting proposals for the FY 2012 and FY 2013 National Wetland Program Development Grants (WPDGs). This grant opportunity aims to support the enhancement of wetland programs at state, tribal, or local government levels or to target specific components of these programs. Proposals must fall within one of two National Priority Areas: Core Elements Framework or Tribal Wetland Monitoring and Assessment Training Workshops.
Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations, interstate agencies, and intertribal consortia, while individual states, tribes, local governments, and for-profit entities are not eligible. Some criteria apply to ensure that applicants meet non-profit definitions, and lobbying non-profits cannot apply.
Funding available totals approximately $1,000,000, split between FY 2012 and FY 2013. The EPA will cover up to 75% of project costs, with specific allocations for the two priority areas.
