  • To qualify for funding an applicant must be a national, non profit medical education society or allied health professional association, and a national leader in medical, nursing, and/or allied health education with a proven track record of working with other medical, related professional associations. be a professional organization composed of medical professionals and non physician health care professionals specializing in rheumatology, such as advanced practice nurses, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, psychologists, social workers, epidemiologists, physician assistants educators, clinicians and researchers. demonstrate a reputation for leading medical health, nursing, or allied health professional consortiums or collaborative partnerships that at a minimum include schools of medicine, nursing, or allied health, medical, nursing, or allied health professional associations and scientific researchers and educators with knowledge and expertise in the epidemiology, treatment, and management of lupus. have a minimum of five years experience in professional training and education particularly with a focus in rheumatology and excellent knowledge and understanding of lupus. Have an established record of developing, disseminating, and delivering professional education to medical, nursing, and allied health professionals in a variety of settings (e.g., national meetings, medical schools, academic medical centers, and medical professional associations) and modalities (e.g., print, in person, on line, webinars, DVD, and other distance based learning). Non profit medical societies, medical, nursing, and allied health professional associations were identified as potential applicants because they are uniquely positioned and qualified to develop partnerships with medical schools and with other medical and nursing professional associations needed to disseminate and conduct education and training.
