- Organization Limit Proposals may only be submitted by the following Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) that are accredited and offer undergraduate educational programs in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Eligibility for Innovations through Institutional Integration (Isup3/sup) is limited to institutions of higher education (including two and four year colleges) accredited in, and having a campus located in the US. If the proposal is exclusively for Isup3/sup STEM educational or related research, then all categories of proposers identified in the NSF Grant Proposal Guide are eligible to submit. PI Limitul liThe Principal Investigator for Implementation Projects (including ACE) and Planning Grant proposals should be the chief academic officer of the institution or other senior academic official. Potential co Principal Investigators include the key personnel that will be involved in the implementation of the project activities./li liThe Principal Investigator for Targeted Infusion Projects should be a STEM department head or equivalent. Potential co Principal Investigators include the key personnel that will be involved in the implementation of the project activities./li liThe Principal Investigator for Education Research Projects should be the individual who will perform the research project. Other potential co Principal Investigators include collaborators on the research project. At least one of the Principal Investigators must have formal training in education research or significant professional experience doing education research./li /ul The Principal Investigator for an Innovation through Institutional Integration (Isup3/sup) proposal must be the university provost or equivalent chief academic officer, unless the proposal is exclusively for Isup3/sup STEM educational or related research.
