Included among these grantees are the District of Columbia, City of New York, Philadelphia, Houston, Chicago, San Antonio, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianna Islands, American Samoa, Guam, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau. The Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of Palau and the Republic of the Marshall Islands are not eligible for funding through the VFC Program. Competition is limited to the entities listed above because they have the primary responsibility for carrying out the public health assurance functions required to achieve the desired outcomes and performance goals established by CDC.
