Opportunity Information: Apply for DE FOA 0000646
The U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Science is inviting applications for funding Integrated Nuclear Medicine Research and Training Projects of Excellence. This initiative aims to achieve three key objectives:
1. Advance research on innovative radiotracer methods and agents for use in nuclear medicine, which can enhance our understanding of human physiology, gene expression, and disease diagnosis. 2. Foster the participation of postdoctoral fellows and medical professionals who specialize in nuclear medicine to develop and implement new radiotracers for clinical applications. 3. Improve training opportunities to ensure a skilled workforce in the fields of radiotracer development, clinical nuclear medicine research, and related areas.
Eligible applicants should have access to advanced facilities and an interdisciplinary team, including radiochemists, synthetic chemists, and physician scientists, to support a comprehensive research training environment. Institutions with capabilities in nuclear medicine imaging, particularly PET and SPECT, are preferred, as they can facilitate a range of collaborative research efforts from tracer development to clinical implementation.
