Opportunity Information: Apply for INL13GR001WHPMEXICO 10262012
The Mexico Merida Initiative is offering a grant opportunity for organizations interested in conducting a diagnostic study of the drug court program in Guadalupe, Nuevo Leon. This drug court is unique in Mexico and plays a vital role in the country's efforts to reduce drug demand. Funding for the project will come from the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City’s Drug Demand Reduction (DDR) program, which aims to enhance the Government of Mexico's capabilities in diagnosing and treating drug addiction as part of a broader strategy against organized crime.
The initiative supports the development of drug courts, which effectively link treatment with various support mechanisms like incentives, sanctions, drug testing, and aftercare. These courts have a proven track record in the U.S. for improving public health and safety and are recognized as a cost-effective strategy for helping addicted offenders achieve lasting recovery.
Applications are open to organizations from any country, including international entities. Partnerships are also encouraged, with one organization required to act as the lead applicant. Interested parties should refer to the application package for further details and can reach out via email for any inquiries.Apply for INL13GR001WHPMEXICO 10262012
