Opportunity Information: Apply for SGA DFA PY 09 02
The U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration (DOL, ETA) has announced a grant opportunity for the National Farmworker Jobs Program (NFJP) for Program Year 2009. This grant aims to support organizations that will operate the NFJP in designated service delivery areas. Typically, the DOL holds a grant competition every two years for this program, but for PY 2009, a waiver of competition will apply to those grantees that have demonstrated successful performance, except for Arkansas, Hawaii, Indiana, and Nebraska, which are ineligible for the waiver.
Additionally, the announcement notes that the current grantee in Maine will cease its operations on July 1, 2009, creating the need for a competitive process in that area. Consequently, the DOL invites proposals from eligible organizations to administer the NFJP from October 1, 2009, through June 30, 2011. Due to the timing of the announcement, existing NFJP grantees will be allowed to continue their operations for the first quarter of PY 2009, with funding provided on a pro-rated basis until September 30, 2009, to prevent service disruption for participants. Interested applicants are encouraged to review the complete announcement for further details.Apply for SGA DFA PY 09 02
