Opportunity Information: Apply for FOA ETA 15 01
The U.S. Department of Labor is offering approximately $12 million in grants to expand the National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Program, particularly targeting youth involved with the juvenile justice system. This initiative aims to enhance the existing program by integrating a new job training component called DOL Job ChalleNGe for both court-involved and non-court-involved youth.
Participants, known as Cadets, will undergo military-style training and participate in supervised work experiences over a six-month residential phase hosted at National Guard facilities. After completing this phase, each Cadet will be paired with a mentor for 12 months to assist with their reintegration into the community. An option for a five-month residential DOL Job ChalleNGe program is available for those seeking additional vocational training.
The grant program will award up to $4 million to three different grantees, with a total funding of $12 million over a performance period of 42 months. This includes a three-month planning stage followed by the mentoring phase. Applicants can request a maximum of $4 million to implement the DOL Job ChalleNGe but must secure separate funding for the initial six-month residential phase of the National Guard Youth ChalleNGe program.Apply for FOA ETA 15 01
