The National Urban and Community Forestry Advisory Council is initiating a project to update its Ten Year Action Plan for urban forestry. The current plan covers 2006 to 2016 and needs to be revised by the end of 2015 to comply with legislative requirements. The U.S. Forest Service is inviting qualified organizations to submit proposals that assess and review the nation's urban forest resources as well as related programs from various sectors including federal and state agencies, nonprofit organizations, and community groups.
Proposals must address key elements outlined in the legislation and incorporate recommendations from the Council. This process includes information gathering, analysis, and the development of a comprehensive report for the new Ten Year Action Plan covering 2017 to 2027. Funding for this initiative will come from the Fiscal Year 2013 Urban and Community Forestry Program, but the availability of funds may vary.Apply for USDA FS UCF 02 2013
