Opportunity Information: Apply for 2011NEA03LFTP
The NEA Literature Fellowships Translation Projects for FY 2012 provide funding for published translators working on translating specific prose, poetry, or drama into English. The grant support can start anywhere from November 1, 2011, to November 1, 2012, and can last for up to two years. The focus is on translating literary works that are not widely represented in English, with an emphasis on those that demonstrate literary excellence. Projects that involve works not yet translated into English are prioritized. The competition for these fellowships is intense, and applicants should evaluate the competitiveness of their projects carefully.
Funding does not extend to individuals who have received three or more fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, or any fellowships within the last five years. The program also does not support scholarly writing or work towards academic degrees.Apply for 2011NEA03LFTP
