Opportunity Information: Apply for WHAP WHAAQPPC 13 004
The U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs has issued a Request for Applications (RFA) for the Pathways Challenge Grants, aimed at supporting the Pathways to Prosperity in the Americas initiative. A total of $3,861,386 is available, with one grant expected to be awarded, starting no later than September 2013 and covering a project period of up to three years, funded through FY12 Economic Support Funds.
This initiative encompasses 15 partner countries, including the U.S., and focuses on implementing policies that foster inclusive economic growth and facilitate the exchange of innovative solutions. To prepare for the upcoming Pathways ministerial in Panama in October 2013, the involved countries are launching public competitions to source scalable ideas for economic growth across four key pillars.
Applicants are invited to propose projects for the $3,861,386 award, which involves managing around $2,250,000 in subawards for projects in one of 13 selected countries, excluding the U.S. and Canada. The primary beneficiaries of these projects must come from countries like the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, and Peru. The goal is to test and expand innovative projects with potential for scalability.
Project proposals should emphasize collaboration with finalists and winners of the Pathways Challenge Competition, and include studies on the Triple Bottom Line Return on Investment (ROI). Effective scaling strategies for each project must also be identified. Lessons learned from these demonstration projects will be shared through the Pathways Clearinghouse, overseen by the Organization of American States (OAS). Interested applicants can find more information in the full RFA and are encouraged to reach out to Aaron Spencer at the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs for further details.Apply for WHAP WHAAQPPC 13 004
