Opportunity Information: Apply for PD 06 7231
The Strategic Technologies for Cyberinfrastructure (STCI) Program is designed to foster innovative cyberinfrastructure services that support science and engineering research and education, particularly in areas not covered by existing funding opportunities. This program is especially open to highly innovative projects in education, outreach, and training related to cyberinfrastructure.
While the National Science Foundation (NSF) offers targeted funding for cyberinfrastructure development and education, there are many ideas that do not fit neatly into these categories but hold significant potential. The STCI program invites proposals that can demonstrate new impacts on research or education, fulfill unmet needs in cyberinfrastructure, and appeal to various scientific and engineering communities.
Projects should aim to produce outcomes not currently being addressed by other initiatives and must outline a compelling need for the proposed work. Additionally, investigators planning to submit larger proposals (approximately $500,000 or more annually) are encouraged to gather strong support from the relevant communities beforehand and include this in their submissions.
Proposals need to clearly articulate how the work will substantially advance capabilities in multiple scientific and engineering domains and why it is not a fit for other NSF programs. It is advisable for proposers to consult with program officers to ensure their ideas align with STCI objectives. Also, submissions for workshops, symposia, and Small Grants for Exploratory Research related to the program's focus are welcome. For guidance on proposal submission, interested individuals should refer to the Grant Proposal Guide.Apply for PD 06 7231
