Opportunity Information: Apply for HHS 2012 ACF OCC TH 0302
The Tribal Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (TMIECHV) Grant Program, established under the Affordable Care Act, offers funding for fiscal year 2012 to support five-year demonstration grants through cooperative agreements. These grants target federally recognized Indian Tribes, Tribal Organizations, or Urban Indian Organizations. The core aim is to conduct community needs assessments and develop infrastructure for implementing and sustaining evidence-based home visiting programs for pregnant women and families with young children from birth to kindergarten entry.
The initiative seeks to improve various outcomes, including maternal and infant health, child development, and parenting practices. It also addresses issues related to child maltreatment, school readiness, family socioeconomic status, and the coordination of community resources. Overall, the TMIECHV program intends to foster healthy and successful families in Tribal communities through a comprehensive home visiting strategy.
During the project's five-year span, funding will support the following activities: conducting a Tribal needs assessment that evaluates existing home visiting services and community characteristics, collaborative planning to develop and sustain quality home visiting programs, and providing evidence-based home visiting services. Additionally, grantees will conduct rigorous local evaluations focused on the effectiveness of these home visitation models in Tribal contexts.
In the first year, funding will primarily support the needs assessment and planning phase. If this phase is successfully completed, grantees will then submit a workplan for subsequent funding in years two to five, during which they will implement the approved plans, track progress toward established benchmarks, and participate in research or evaluation activities related to the project.Apply for HHS 2012 ACF OCC TH 0302
