Opportunity Information: Apply for S SGWI SF GR 004 WEA
The WEAmericas Small Grants Initiative aims to support women-owned small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Latin America and the Caribbean. Recognizing that women face unique challenges in business, this initiative seeks to enhance women's economic participation by addressing barriers such as limited access to training, markets, and financing. Launched by Secretary Hillary Clinton in April 2012, the initiative encourages public-private partnerships to foster a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem for women.
Nonprofits and social enterprises are invited to submit proposals for small grants ranging from USD 20,000 to 60,000. Proposals should focus on leveraging existing resources to tackle at least two of the following barriers: access to skills and capacity building, access to assets, access to markets, access to networks, and women's leadership. Projects must benefit women and girls and promote a supportive environment for women entrepreneurs.
Successful applicants should demonstrate a proven track record in enhancing the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Examples of effective projects include programs for skills development, the creation of networks for women-owned businesses, and facilitating connections between small and larger enterprises. Proposals should particularly consider including rural and indigenous women-owned businesses. All applications must be in English, limited to six pages, and submitted by August 20, 2012. Further details can be found in the Request for Applications (RFA).Apply for S SGWI SF GR 004 WEA
