This is a notice of intent to award Questa Engineering Corporation a grant up to 800,000 under justification 505 DM 2.14 (B2). The Central Valley Project Improvement Act (CVPIA Title 34 of Public Law 102 575, Section 3406(b)(1)) authorizes and directs the Secretary of the DOI, in consultation with other State and Federal agencies, Indian tribes, and affected interests, to develop and implement a program which makes all reasonable efforts to at least double natural production of anadromous fish in Central Valley rivers and streams. Questa Engineering is currently under agreement and has analyzed the fish passage problem, designed the remediation, conducted the environmental review, obtained permits, and completed the bid package for implementation of this project. The project to be funded is implementation of the design. Questa Engineering is intimately familiar with the design and environmental regulations incorporated therefore Questa Engineering will provide project continuity to successfully implement the design within the timeframe given. This project is to correct a fish passage issue related to a road crossing on Antelope Creek, tributary to the Sacramento River near Red Bluff, CA. The road crossing is located within the Tehama Wildlife Area administered by the California Department of Fish and Game.
