  • Eligible Applicants Eligible applicants that can apply for this funding opportunity are listed below Non domestic (non U.S.) entity Eligibility for this FOA is limited due to the requirements considered necessary to carry out the key objectives and activities of the FOA which conducting surveillance, outbreak response and laboratory diagnostics on diseases of public health importance in Bangladesh. The program will be required to carry out multiple surveillance platforms and other public health strengthening activities including mentoring and training junior scientists at the same time. In order to achieve the expected results of the FOA the following are considered necessary A certified biosafety level three (BSL 3) laboratory in Bangladesh that is uniquely equipped to perform research and diagnostic testing on samples from surveillance of human and animal populations that are suspected of being highly pathogenic (Nipah virus, avian influenza or unknown pathogens), as well as provide laboratory support to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW) in Bangladesh. Have the legal authority to hire third country nationals with the technical skills to meet the requirements of the proposed surveillance and outbreak response components in an efficient and timely manner. Have the legal authority to process supplies, including temperature sensitive reagents, through the customs process in an efficient, cost effective and timely manner to ensure their viability upon receipt.
